I have had an ongoing fascination with Mount Willard for the past several years. The short trail to a spectacular lookout over Crawford Notch begins near where I work a few days per week, and I hike or jog up it at least once per month. I have been up Mount Willard in all seasons and in all kinds of weather. I have hiked when the popular trail was full of people and when I did not meet another soul. There were times the view was brilliantly sublime and times when everything was socked in by clouds. In all of these conditions it is an enchanting hike. This small painting is part of series of sixteen pieces. Tiny love letters to this well-loved mountain.
