"River Rock #1," framed 6x6 inch oil on panel painting

River rocks come in all shapes and sizes. Broken chunks of granite tumbled down a streambed centuries ago are smoothed and mellowed by the water's flow. Others are rolled for miles and worn by sand to perfect smoothness along the streambed. I love the way the water sparkles, swirls and meanders around them, creating the most wonderful colors and patterns. This rock looks like a good place to sit and dip your feet into the refreshingly cold water of this mountain stream.
